Under the latest round of the scheme, retailers will receive grants worth on average €37,500 to help cover up to 80 per cent of the cost of expanding their online presence, with the aim of attracting new and repeat customers.
The announcement has been welcomed by Galway Fine Gael senator, Seán Kyne [pictured above]. “The allocation will help these Galway retailers compete with larger, global retailers,” he said. “The success of local businesses is not only vital to our economy but also to ensure that our city, town and village centres thrive."
