Cheevers calls for full clean up of alleys in Castlepark and Ballybane

Councillor says alleys in both areas have become a ‘haven for illegal dumping’

Alleyways in Castlepark and Ballybane have become a ‘haven for illegal dumping’ and require the urgent attention of the Galway City Council.

This is the view of Fianna Fáil Galway City East councillor, Alan Cheevers, who has called on the local authority to do “a full clean up” of alleys in both areas. “I have had reports that there are rodents coming into some back gardens because of the dumping,” he said.

Cllr Cheevers has called for a “long term solution” to ensure illegal dumping in the alleyways is tackled, as well as a project in conjunction with local residents to try and enhance such areas.
