See a ‘window wonderland’ in Galway’s libraries

Spring Into Summer Window Trail at Augustine Street, Ballybane, and Westside libraries

A ‘window wonderland’ has been created in the windows of the three libraries in Galway city - on Augustine Street, in Ballybane, and in Westside.

This is the Spring Into Summer Window Trail, a project involving visual artists, librarians, and environmentalists. It is a collaboration between the lead partner, Galway Public Libraries, along with the Friends of Merlin Woods, Galway Waterways Foundation, and Terryland Forest Park Alliance.

.

Three visual artists were selected to create the Spring Into Summer Window Trail - Shona MacGillivray, Tracey Moca, and Teresa Ward. The window trail aims to encourage people to explore green and blue spaces in Galway and engage in a mindful, imaginative approach to their daily walk/run/cycle by referencing the local, natural and folk heritage of our city parks.

The Spring Into Summer Window Trail will be supplemented with online activities on Galway Public Libraries' social media. The project is funded by Creative Ireland and the Galway City Council.
