On Thursday June 24 NUI Galway will host an MBA Women in Leadership event. The event will be held online from 1pm to 2pm. Attendees will get a chance to hear from leaders in the medical world who are in positions of leadership.
In 2020 Dr Ódharna Ní Dhomhnalláin received the inaugural MBA McGinty Scholarship. Dr Ní Dhomhnalláin, who will be a member of the panel for the information event, said: “What has been really apparent throughout my first year of the MBA has been the importance of having diversity on boards, diversity of opinions and diversity of backgrounds and diversity of careers.
“I think healthcare practitioners bring a unique insight, particularly with regard to patient care and healthcare problems that we encounter in our day-to-day practice. The MBA has been very helpful in broadening my thinking and exposing me to the business knowledge that I need in order to pursue leadership and management positions in the future.
“It has been a massive privilege to be the first recipient of the McGinty Scholarship for female physicians. Dr McGinty herself has been a huge source of support. She has been a true mentor for me throughout the programme and, in addition to that, she has established a board of female advisors who are both very inspirational and very impressive, all of whom have been very involved with my MBA journey to date.”
