FRANKIE GAVIN, Mairtín O’Connor, and Johnny Duhan - three titans, not only of the Galway folk and traditional scene, but of Irish music, will be live in concert at the Town Hall Theatre.

Part Of A Tribe will take place on Saturday July 3 at 8pm and will see Gavin, O’Connor, and Duhan will each perform solo works and collaborate on instrumentals. Hear them play ‘The Road West’, ‘The Queen of Sheba’, ‘The Belfast Hornpipe’, ‘Thomond Bridge’, ‘Joe Cooley’s Reels’, and songs like ‘The Voyage’, ‘Don’t Give up Till it’s Over’, and ‘The Beacon’.

A highlight of the show will be a rendition of ‘Part Of A Tribe’, an anthem the three musicians recorded with members of Galway’s folk and traditional musical community as a fundraiser for St Vincent dePaul. The song’s theme of community co-operation and team spirit has taken on new relevance in this time of the Covid-19 pandemic:

“As part of a tribe, we respected each other/The law was inscribed that we love one another/And though it wasn’t always applied, the law never died.”

This will be a limited capacity show. Tickets (€25 in person; €15 for online; €20 for online household ) including booking fee, are available from www.tht.ie, with a maximum of four tickets per purchase. The concert will also be livestreamed.
