Rangers and West divide the spoils

A lively match unfolded to mark the return to local action

CORRIB RANGERS 2 WEST UNITED 2

On a Bank Holiday Monday when local sport made a welcome return throughout the country, Corrib Rangers and West United served up a competitive Western Hygiene Supplies Premier Division encounter.

Rangers promise was evident during the first half, but West responded with a burst of passion after the restart to ensure the spoils were shared.

Two early goals from Ryan Folan and Mark Wynne steered Dave Daly's Rangers into a commanding position.

Rangers continued to probe and were unfortunate not to add a third before the break.

When the action recommenced West came thundering back with Ronan Caldwell's splendid effort from an acute angle trimming the deficit.

Then Keith Lee reacted promptly in a crowded area to mine an equaliser as West's enthusiasm was rewarded. Rangers contributed handsomely to a lively match which left everyone with plenty to ponder.
