Council must give date for new changing rooms at Ballyloughane

Cllr Alan Cheevers demands council make getting a blue flag for Ballyloughane "a priority"

A start date must be announced for the construction of the new changing rooms and toilets for Ballyloughane, especially as funding was made available for it in this year's budget.

This is the view of Fianna Fáil Galway City East councillor, Alan Cheevers, who has also called on the council to make getting a blue flag for Ballyloughane "a priority", so it can be on a similar level to Silverstand and Ladies' Beach.

Cllr Cheevers also welcomed the removal of seaweed at Ballyloughane Beach. "This is something residents have been asking for," he said. "It’s important we have the beach clean for summer months."
