Councillors raised concerns about the route selection and timeline for the planned Galway city cycle network, during this week's online city council meeting.
Cllr John Connolly asked for 'clear timelines' on the what is being undertaken by the Galway Cycle Network, while Cllr Owen Hanley queried how the two routes currently being explored on the east side of the city were decided.

The Ballyloughane Road and Doughiska Road South are the two east side projects with Cllr Hanley suggesting other areas need cycling infrastructure implemented sooner.
Cllr Alan Cheevers also queried when these works would take place. Uinsinn Finn, senior engineer and head of transport with Galway City Council, stated that routes were identified to bring forward to construction, which they hope to start soon.
He added that a public consultation on the Clybaun Road route should be able to take place shortly pending National Transport Authority approval.
