General chiropody and podiatry services will be available with a dedicated chiropodist/podiatrist at the Tuam Primary Care Centre from July.
The service, which will cater for patients in the Tuam, Athenry, and Loughrea community health network areas, has been welcomed by Independent Galway East TD, Sean Canney.
“It is important his service is up and running without any further delay,” he said. “It is very necessary for patients to be able to travel a short distance for treatment rather than having to travel to Galway city”.
Dep Canney said he will continue to liaise with the HSE to ensure that the primary care centre setting is expanded to provide as many of the services possible in local areas.
