Opacas release new single and Lego video

‘Outta Time’ depicts the band as Legomen running around Galway

OPACAS, THE Galway/Leeds 'virtual’ rock band whose catchy singles and quirky videos have brought much joy during the pandemic, are back - and this time with a Lego video.

Today, Thursday May 27, the band released the new single, ‘Outta Time’, with the band members - Pat Boye, Steve Talbot, Pete Tobin - represented as Legomen wandering around Galway, including running past the Galway Advertiser building in Eyre Square. Leeds member Mark Raynor however, is still being depicted as a cardboard cutout.

Previous singles have seen the band collaborate with the Knocknacarra Amateur Theatre Society and Athenry Drama Group for the accompanying videos, but current public health guidelines meant such groupings were not possible this time - hence the Lego video.

The song itself has a strong 1960s vibe, with jangly guitars and vocal harmonies. As with previous Opaca singles, an ‘Artist Version’ will be released in the coming weeks, as a piano only piece, featuring the work of a local visual artist.

The release of ‘Outta Time’ coincides with The Opacas being nominated for a Mayor’s Award for services provided to the community during the COVID pandemic. See www.Opacas.com and social media.
