Deadline looms for Town Hall's Theatre Development Programme

Programme to be led by theatre director Andrew Flynn, with assistance from other leading Galway theatre makers

THE DEADLINE is fast approaching for applications to the Town Hall Theatre's Theatre Development Programme which offers support and mentorship to emerging artists.

The programme will be facilitated and led by director Andrew Flynn. He will be assisted by a panel of experienced theatre makers, including Roisin Stack Actor, Maria Tivnan, and Fergal McGrath, who will be available to support, career guidance, and knowledge with emerging artists and companies.

Those sought

Applications are welcome from professional independent theatre makers, actors, composers, creative producers, curators, dancers, designers, directors, playwrights, stage managers, and technicians, at an early stage in their career

Applicants do not have to reside in Galway but a priority will be given to theatre artists who are based in Galway or have a strong connection/relationship with Galway.

Applicants do not have to earn their living exclusively from their work in the arts, but must be a practicing professional artist or arts worker.

Programme aims

The aim of the programme is to provide mentorship and support to emerging theatre makers; develop capacity for Galway-based theatre makers; provide professional development; establish links between professional artists and emerging artists; provide supports to help develop independent artists; and develop the capacity of Town Hall Theatre to become a centre of excellence that can give professional supports Galway based artists. The programme will take place over a six-month period in 2021.
