The Great Hargeisa Goat Bubble, a radio play by Galway author and singer Julian Gough, will be broadcast on BBC Radio 4 tomorrow at 2.15pm.
The play centres on a young Tipperary orphan, Jude (hero of Julian’s novel, Jude: Level 1, and the forthcoming Jude: Level 2 ), who meets a Somali economist Ibrahim Bihi on a lonely, snow-swept railway platform. Bihi tells Jude the sad story of how he made, and then lost, an immense fortune trading goats, in the great Hargeisa goat bubble.
The play features Sam O’Mahony-Adams as Jude; Royal Shakespearean Company actor Hugh Quarshie, who was in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace; and BBC economics correspondent Stephanie Flanders.
