The famous Bushypark gardens of Lorna MacMahon will open this month to raise funds for charity.
Having been featured in five books, numerous magazines, and televised nine times, the gardens are well worth a visit. For more than 25 years the garden has opened to raise funds for The Galway Mental Health Association. This year it will open on Sunday May 17, Sunday May 24, and Sunday May 31 from 2pm to 6 pm.
Situated on nearly five acres, the garden is adorned with, water gardens, a hazel bluebell wood, herb section, Mediterranean style garden, and a Japanese moss garden.
Plants from the Australian, Asian, South African, and European continents all thrive in the natural setting surrounded by native Irish hedgerows.
A large range of plants will be on sale on the open days, including many rare and unusual varieties. The gardens are situated at Ardcarraig, Oranswell, BushyPark.
