Kia launches new voice assist app

Kia has launched ‘Kia Service’ Google Voice Assistant, a new app designed to make service requests a quick and hassle-free experience.

Available through Google Voice Assistant and Facebook Messenger, it is a simple and convenient new way for customers to make contact with Kia and their local Kia dealer’s service department.

Jointly developed by Kia Europe and Kia Ireland, the new app allows customers to request service information at a time and place convenient for them using voice commands by simply saying “Hey Google, talk to Kia Service” on any Google Assistant enabled device.

Adam Fogarty, project lead at Kia Ireland adds: “We are delighted to work with our colleagues from Kia Europe on this project and for Ireland to be first with such an innovation.

“Adding this to our suite of online offerings, such as our already successful online service booking tool; www.KiaService.ie, gives Irish customers more ways to access our services, when they want and how they want.”

Customers can also use the app to request directions to their nearest dealer based on the user’s real-time location and receive answers to the most commonly asked questions, such as warranty terms and service intervals.

All local data is updated by Kia centrally via the cloud to ensure customers receive the most up-to-date dealer information. Real-time updates also allow customers to receive special offers based on service promotions, with responses delivered direct to the user’s mobile phone.

Kia Motors Ireland MD Ronan Flood says the company's continuous aim is to introduce innovative products and services that "delight our customers and add to a first class Kia ownership experience".

"By using the Kia Service Google Voice Assistant, our customers can now request service information at any time.”

The launch of the Kia Service Google Voice Assistant follows Kia’s brand relaunch earlier this year, part of Kia’s Plan S long-term strategy to establish a leading position in the future automotive industry. An important part of this strategy is to put customers first by developing products and services that offer innovative and useful solutions. It is planned to be rolled out across European markets later in 2021.
