This year’s Connacht Football Championship will see Galway and Mayo avoiding each other until a potential final.
Padraic Joyce’s Galway have drawn Roscommon at the semi-final stage, while defending champions Mayo will face Sligo at the quarter-final stage.
Roscommon and Galway will face each other at Dr Hyde Park - their first meeting since the 2018 final - while the winners of Mayo v Sligo will then face off against Leitrim in their semi-final.
Sligo, now under new manager Tony McEntee, will want to make up for missing last year’s championship when they were forced to withdraw due to Covid cases. However, both Mayo and Galway will be favourites to proceed to the final which is scheduled for July 25.
This year’s All Ireland series is a knock-out competition which ensures there can be no slip up for Galway.
