Cancer Care West launches virtual challenge campaign

Cancer Care West is calling on everyone who is thinking of taking on a new challenge this year to join their campaign, so when you reach your goal, you are also helping cancer sufferers on the West of Ireland to reach theirs.

Everyone is invited to choose their own target distance and where, when and how to do it. By registering the challenge with the charity each participant will automatically receive a link to a Cancer Care West fundraising page, tailored to their specific preferences.

The charity is delighted that Paul Devaney, the Operation Transformation leader from Galway, was the first to sign up and he is encouraging everyone to get on board. Paul commented “Not only will you be getting yourself, your kids, your dog, healthy, you’ll also be helping to raise much needed funds for Cancer Care West and the brilliant work they do in providing support to cancer patients and their families.”

Encouraging his clients, partners, subcontractors, families and friends to join him and adopt the programme he said this is a great opportunity to get yourself fit in time for summer, he encouraged everyone to join him to ‘Let’s Do Our Best For Cancer Care West.’

Paul’s employer, Ward and Burke Construction, has also launched their version of the campaign asking all employees to get involved by doing the challenge with Paul over the coming weeks. Cancer Care West is hoping that many more companies will join them and promote the campaign to their employees too.

Richard Flaherty, CEO, Cancer Care West said “Many companies are looking for ways to unite their employees while they remain working from home. This is a perfect way for teams, with all levels of fitness and abilities, to come together and do something positive for themselves and for the charity.”

Providing community based practical and emotional support services to anyone whose life has been affected by a cancer diagnosis throughout the west and northwest of Ireland, the charity has never been as busy as they face unprecedented demand for their services.

So whether its 100 laps around the garden or 100km around the neighbourhood everyone is encouraged to get out there and up the ante in support of such a great cause. To register you can simply go to their website www.cancercarewest.ie
