The International College for Personal and Professional Development, ICPPD, based in Athlone, is a leading provider of accredited personal and professional programmes with a difference, nationally and internationally at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The programmes are different, the tutors are different, and the adult learners are different.
ICPPD’s vision is to inspire, encourage, and support people on their path towards wholeness and wellness. The goal of the organisation is to provide academic and professional validated programmes of excellence in the field of counselling and psychotherapy, and to offer associated courses to a community of adult learners. At ICPPD personal development, self-awareness, and creative expression are seen as key components of any training and education programme.
The Introduction to Holistic Counselling and Psychotherapy programme is a 60-hour certificate course - a foundation-level counselling and psychotherapy course that has been described by adult learners as “life-changing” and “empowering”. The course is highly interactive and combines personal development, counselling skills, and an introduction to some of the theoretical approaches in counselling and psychotherapy.
This programme offers an access opportunity to return to education and is a springboard for anyone wishing to follow professional training in the field of counselling and psychotherapy. It serves as an excellent introduction to the area of counselling and teaches general counselling skills that will benefit people in both their personal and professional lives, particularly those who regularly work with the public. No previous experience is necessary to embark on the course. A willingness to participate and openness to learning is encouraged.
The Introduction to Holistic Counselling and Psychotherapy programme commences online on Wednesday, May 19. The programme is delivered by experienced facilitators who are accredited counsellors/psychotherapists.
For anyone considering joining a programme, ICPPD is holding an online open evening via Zoom on Thursday, May 6, from 7pm to 8.30pm.
