GRETB Training Centre is offering a free 2D AutoCAD course starting May 10. AutoCAD is a design tool used by architects, civil engineers, product designers, and many other engineering professionals in a wide variety of industries.
Learn to use AutoCAD to create 2D drawings in this 13 week course. You will be expected to allocate approximately 30 hours per week to the course.
The course will allow you to install a free educational version of AutoCAD on your own laptop or PC.
During the course you will work through self-paced, step by step, tutorials which are custom created to follow the syllabus for the City & Guilds 7689-05 award in 2D Computer Aided Design CAD. You will have access to a Moodle online course with many resources including video lessons.
You will study, practice, and learn at home and attend a weekly workshop in the training centre.
Pre-requirements for this course are:
· Leaving Certificate standard of education with a pass in a technical drawing/design and communication graphics and maths, or have achieved an equivalent level of relevant industrial experience or training.
· Competency in performing conventional draughting/technical drawing tasks.
· Good spatial aptitude and form perception.
· Knows how to create technical/construction/mechanical drawings.
· Can read a drawing.
· Understands front elevations, plan views, sections, and end views, etc.
· Can work out/calculate required dimensions from a drawing.
· Good computer, numerical, and literacy skills with a good standard of written and spoken English.
· A suitable PC or laptop.
· Suitable broadband connection to download AutoCAD and to view online video lessons.
