Treaty struck in the 18th minute when Ed McCarthy headed home a splendid cross from former Galway United left back Marc Ludden.

Shane Duggan and Padraic Cunningham went close, but Treaty custodian Tadhg Ryan was impressive.

Conor Kearns made a vital stop to deny Treaty substitute Alan Murphy, who was released by McSweeney as the Tribesmen survived a scare.

United eventually rattled the Treaty net when Conor McCormack's free kick caused panic in the area with Waweru pouncing to level.
