Right time to sell as strong demand from buyers continues

Property auction specialist IAM Sold, which runs the Connacht, Munster, Leinster, and Northern Ireland Property Auctions, is advising property owners looking to sell their properties in the coming months to contact the company to arrange for a free valuation.

According to the latest figures released by DAFT.ie, comparing the first quarter of 2021 with the same period last year, house prices on average are 7.6 per cent higher and demand continues to surge. Shane May of The Connacht Property Auction commented: “This dramatic turn within the housing market is a result of demand for homes remaining strong and very low stock levels, due to delays in construction during the pandemic.”

At present there are approximately 15,000 homes available to buy on DAFT.ie, down c40 per cent on supply levels seen last year. Mr. May continued: “The biggest challenge in the Irish housing market right now and indeed over the last few years remains the low stock levels. Looking at these latest figures, it is clear that the rise in house prices is a result of prolonged low supply and continued strong demand. Across the country we continue to see strong inquiry levels on the majority of properties we offer to market, and we feel now is an excellent time for anyone thinking of selling.”
