Parks and Gardens in Springtime is an online event organised by Cllr Martina O’Connor Chairperson of The Climate, Environment, Recreation and Amenity SPC of Galway City Council, taking place tonight Thursday April 15 at 7.30 pm.
The expert line up of speakers will talk us through the current thinking in grass and ground management to make the spaces you care for beautiful but sustainable.
If you want to learn a little about managing for biodiversity and welcoming pollinators to your surroundings this is the event for you, no experience necessary. Do you remember when everyone grew food? Would you like to try again come and ask your questions?
Our speakers are Senator Pauline OReilly of the Green Party, Martina O’Connor Galway City Council, Martina Finn of Permaculture Ireland, Caroline Stanley of Friends of Merlin Woods, Colin Stanley of The Butterfly Project, Lynn O’Keeffe craft gardener with OPW. They will be available for discussion and questions as part of the event.
I hope all of you who enjoy gardening and caring for the spaces in your communities will join us to hear and share experiences and perhaps learn what you can do to help the environment even in a small city space.
