ISME will partner with the Health and Safety Authority (HSA ) in a webinar on workplace safety, health and welfare and Remote Working, on March 31, in the first of a series of events run in partnership with the (HSA ).
ISME and the HSA will work together to inform and advise Irish businesses about safety, health and welfare supports with a number of webinars, videos, blogs and online resources in 2021.
The first webinar on Wednesday, March 31, at 11am will look at workplace safety, health and welfare and remote working. Joanne Harmon, Business and Education Support Manager, with the Health and Safety Authority will join ISME’s HR Advisor Cait Lynch, answering questions and offering advice and guidance to business owners and managers in order to better understand the requirements for employers under safety, health and welfare law.
Remote working will be a particular focus during the webinar and responsibilities for both employers and employees will be addressed. The HSA’s Guidance on Working from Home for Employers and Employees will enable employers to understand and plan agreed ongoing remote working arrangements, or blended working arrangements with their employees.
This will be become more important as we emerge from COVID-19 and the economy opens up in the coming months. This guidance and associated resources can be found within a new ‘Remote Working’ area of the HSA website or on ISME’s Coronavirus portal.
“This webinar will be a good opportunity for employers to learn more about health and safety and about how to put in place ongoing remote working arrangements, where desired. While working from home has been an obligation for many this year, there is an opportunity now to explore the benefits of remote working for your business," Joanne Harmon, Business and Education Support Manager with the HSA, said.
“We are delighted to be working again with the Health & Safety Authority (HSA ) in 2021. Health and Safety compliance can be challenging for many businesses and never more so as during the COVID pandemic. This webinar on workplace safety, health, welfare and remote working will address the significant concerns SMEs face at this phase in the COVID-19 pandemic," ISME Chief Executive, Neil McDonnell added.
This free webinar is open to all and those who register can include any questions they want to ask about the topic when they sign up. Find out more on https://isme.ie/hr-qa-the-workplace-and-health-safety.
