Become a founder member of McAllister Distillery Ahascragh

As construction on the new whiskey and gin craft distillery in the village of Ahascragh nears, McAllister Distillers has launched a founders cask programme for those who want to get on board with the venture.

Becoming a founder member by purchasing a cask will contribute to realising the vision for the Ahascragh distillery. Individuals, families, groups of friends, clubs, or corporate entities now have the opportunity to own their own cask of whiskey from McAllister Distillery Ahascragh and benefit from the growth and global demand of Irish whiskey.

"Our founders cask programme is a great opportunity to own a piece of whiskey history in the west of Ireland," says Gareth McAllister, founder and managing director. "Our mission is to help family and friends celebrate meaningful moments and occasions, and what better way than with your own bottle of whiskey from your own cask. Founder members can customise their spirit and cask, making this a unique and personal experience. We are delighted to invite people from Galway, Ireland, and beyond to join us on our whiskey journey."

McAllister Distillers was established in 2018 with the purpose of producing authentically crafted Irish spirits to the highest quality of tasting experience with innovative flavours. Ahascragh Mill dates back to early 1800s and up until the 1950s processed grain into flour. It has been disused and derelict for the past 70 years. McAllister Distillers is restoring this beautiful old mill to deliver a world-class whiskey experience and hospitality destination inside a working craft distillery. McAllister Distillery Ahascragh will be powered by renewable energy and at its core will be a passion and drive to reach a carbon neutral operation.

The founders cask programme will help to refurbish the existing old mill buildings, create visitor and tourist facilities, install process equipment for sustainable production of whiskey and gin, establish a visitor experience and a permanent exhibition of the restored old mill equipment, and create lasting local employment and a cultural legacy for the community of East Galway.
