Gardaí must be given priority in receiving Covid 19 vaccinations, according to Fine Gael Galway City Central councillor, Eddie Hoare.
Speaking at Monday's Joint Policing Committee meeting, Cllr Hoare highlighted the work being carried out by the force. "We have to acknowledge the gardaí and the work that they have been doing in the last year," he said.
He added: "As a JPC, it would be fitting for us to write to the powers that be to make sure the gardaí are prioritised in terms of the rollout of the vaccinations. The job they are doing on the frontline doesn't go unnoticed and I think it should be recognised in terms of the rollout. I just want to make out that point."
