A lively friendly encounter at Eamonn Deacy Park confirmed Peamount United's ability.

Two splendid goals from the visitors ensured they defefeated Galway, who contributed to an entertaining match at the Corribside venue.

On the stroke of half-time Aine O'Gorman's clever finish steered the visitors ahead.

After the restart Peamount added a second courtesy of Eleanor Ryan Doyle.

Galway, who were without several key performers, battled until the end with an 85th minute Kate Slevin penalty narrowing the gap.

Peamount, though, held on to secure victory in the west.
