Applications are invited for this year’s Galway Garda Youth awards.
The now annual Galway Garda Youth Awards, which is run in association with SuperValu, celebrates outstanding young people between the ages of 13 and 21 years from Galway.
Tuesday March 23 is the closing date for nominations. An Garda Síochána in Galway and SuperValu recognise that young people throughout the county have been involved in good and positive endeavours locally.
The Galway Garda Youth Awards reward those young people who by their presence make their communities a better place to live in. Every nomination will receive recognition at a virtual event to be held on April 21, 2021.
Gardaí have distributed nomination forms to schools, youth groups, and voluntary organisations right across the county via email. In addition the nomination forms are available from Garda stations and local SuperValu stores throughout the county.
Four separate awards categories for young people: individual, group, special achievement, and community safety.
SuperValu will provide sponsorship for the award and the list of participating stores in Galway includes Kavanagh’s Moycullen, Clarke’s Barna, Kavanagh’s Clifden, McInerney’s Loughrea, O’Toole’s Tuam, Minihane’s Gort, Flynn’s Lackagh, Hughe’s Claregalway, O’Meara’s Portumna, Heneghan’s Glenamaddy, Coyle’s Mountbellow, Dunne’s Ballinasloe.
