It’s swap a job time as TG4 and RTÉ weather presenters switch roles for Seachtain na Gaeilge

Weather presenters from TG4 and RTÉ swapped jobs again this year to celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge.

TG4’s Darren Ó Dubhgáin, Fiona Ní Fhlaithearta and Donncha Ó Murchú swapped roles with Nuala Carey, Karina Buckley and Helen Curran.

Due to Covid-19 travel restrictions, they were not able to travel, but the segments were recorded in TG4 and RTÉ or close to the presenters homes.

On Monday TG4’s main weather bulletin at 18:57 before Nuacht TG4, TG4’s Darren Ó Dubhgáin presented from TG4’s HQ in Baile na hAbhann before handing over to RTÉ’s Nuala Carey in Dún Laoghaire and Karina Buckley who was at Áras an Uachtaráin.

On RTÉ One News and Weather Helen Curran began the bulletin and handover to TG4’s Fiona Ní Fhlaithearta, who was at the scenic Túr Chamuis in Connemara. Fiona Ní Fhlaithearta then handed over to Donncha Ó Murchú in Salthill.

Fiona Ní Fhlaithearta, An Aimsir Láithreach TG4, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge in a unique way and to exhibit the long standing friendship between TG4 and RTÉ.”
