St. Nicholas’ Parochial school enrolling for next academic year

St. Nicholas’ Parochial School is currently taking enrolments for the academic year, 2021/22.

St. Nicholas’ is situated in Waterside, Woodquay, beside the Town Hall Theatre, close to NUIG and UHG. The school is known to many as ‘the hidden gem in the heart of the city’ and has a long tradition of serving the youth of Galway. St. Nicholas’ Parochial School is a co-educational primary school, very much valuing creativity, inclusivity and diversity.

Due to the school’s central location, the pupils have the opportunity to attend many different educational events taking place in The Town Hall Theatre, local book shops, the Galway City Museum, the City Library and many other locations of interest.

The school also makes great use of the large green area beside the school, known locally as The Plots. The school offers a wide range of extracurricular activities including hockey, drama, Chinese, French, zumba, yoga, Gaelic Football, soccer and rugby.

Swimming usually takes place every Wednesday in Leisureland for all classes. While some of these activities have resumed, it is our hope that all of these activities will resume post Covid-19.

With a low pupil-teacher ratio, small classes, large spacious modern classrooms and an after school service known as Waterside After School, St. Nicholas’ Parochial School offers children a unique and colourful setting for their primary school education.

St. Nicholas’ Parochial School is a vibrant school community and the principal, Wendy Lynch, looks forward to hearing from you.
