THE COASTAL landscapes of Donnacha Quilty combine atmosphere, with a striking blend abstract motifs and representational art.
New works by the Galway artist are currently being exhibited in Anton’s Cafe, Fr Griffin Road, and will be on display until the end of April.

Donnacha is interested in the constantly changing compositions and qualities of light on coastal landscapes. Investigations through drawing and photography become fully realised in acrylic paint on primed board surfaces in a variety of scales. In seeking to distill and simplify these natural stimuli his recent work is showing more abstract, expressive, and gestural forms.
