CALM WITH Horses, the Irish feature film which was largely shot in Galway city and county, has been nominated for 4 BAFTAs.
The film, starring Cosmo Jarvis (Peaky Blinders ), Barry Keoghan (Dunkirk ), and Niamh Algar (The Virtues, The Bisexual ), was shot mostly in Woodford, Loughrea, Rosroe, Gort, Killimor, and Wellpark in Galway city. It was directed by Nick Rowland’, written by Joe Murtagh, and among the executive producers was Michael Fassbender.
The film has been nominated for Best Supporting Actress for Niamh Algar; Best Supporting Actor for Barry Keoghan; and Best Casting for Shaheen Baig. It has also been nominated for Outstanding British Film - despite being an Irish film. However this may have to do with the involvement of Altitude Film Entertainment and Film4.

“Congratulations to Niamh, Barry, Nick, Dan, Joe and Shaheen,” said Element Pictures Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe. “We are so pleased for them and to see Calm With Horses getting the recognition that it deserves from BAFTA.”
