All-star Galway line-up on new Dave Clancy album

Members of We Banjo 3 and The Whileaways provide backing for Corofin folk musician

A HOST of Galway's leading folk and roots musicians are featured on The Path, the debut album from Galway born, Clare based, folk musician, Dave Clancy.

"The Path is an album of original folk songs and has been two years in the making," says Clancy. "I've been a session musician for many years, and this is my first time putting music out under my own name."

The respect Clancy commands is hinted at through the talent featured on this album, including We Banjo 3 fiddler player Fergal Scahill; all three members of The Whileaways (Noelie McDonnell, Nicola Joyce, and Noriana Kennedy ), and a key figure in Galway music, Matthew Berrill on wind instruments.

The first single from the album, 'They're Leaving' was debuted on RTE Radio 1's Simply Folk, while The Path was chosen as an 'album of the week' by Eve Blair on her BBC Radio Ulster show.

The album is streaming now on Spotify.
