Pieta reminds you that you are never alone

Last year, Pieta delivered over 52,000 hours of intervention and bereavement counselling, answered over 70,000 crisis support calls and texts and directly supported over 600 households impacted and bereaved by suicide.

It saw a 25% increase in calls and texts during December 2020 by comparison to the same period in 2019 to its Freephone Crisis Helpline 1800247247 and Crisis Text Line, Text Help to 51444.

They responded to all requests for support to help our clients, especially during Covid, to remember that they are here, they are with them every step of the way and that they are not alone.

To enable them to deliver our free client services, they quickly adapted their fundraising given the impact of Covid on the Darkness into Light event last May.

They lifted the awareness of their services and engaged with volunteers and donors to safeguard the delivery of their services throughout 2020 and into 2021.

"Across all Pieta teams they adapted and responded to the Covid environment and to prioritise their client's needs, especially during this difficult time. The three main centres in the regions which are open for face to face therapy are at Pieta Galway City on Merchants Road; Pieta Tuam on Bishop Street and Pieta Midlands in Athlone.
