Galway 2020 secures April extension

Events move to new timeframe to ensure more people can see the events and shows in store

GALWAY 2020 has secured an extension to allow some events to move into April after Level 5 Government restrictions impacted on cultural events in January and February.

Galway 2020 events moving to April, include The Mighty Ocean by Máirtín O’Connor, a 20-minute piece is scored for 12 musicians; Wires Crossed by Galway Community Circus, a promotes physical and mental wellbeing through the art of funambulism - the art of wire walking; Rise, a series of events for young Galwegians with the Baboró International Arts Festival for Children; Galway Dance Project; and events by TULCA Festival of Visual Arts.

“We work very closely with the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport, and Media to ensure COVID compliance on the delivery of this programme, “ Patricia Philbin, the CEO of Galway 2020. “It is challenging, but in the best interest of the work, and indeed our partners, we continue to deliver projects online. People from all over the world are enjoying work created and made in Galway.”
