Abhaile

Abhaile is a state funded service to help homeowners find a resolution to home mortgage arrears, providing vouchers for free financial and legal advice and help from experts.

In conjunction with Money Advice and Budgeting Service (MABS ), Abhaile is a process in which Creative Insolvency Solutions invests and firmly believes.

“At Creative Insolvency Solutions, we will organise the Government vouchers on our clients behalf. If you are struggling to pay your mortgage and feel like you are in need of assistance, then we want to hear from you,” David commented.

The aim of Abhaile is to help mortgage holders in arrears to find the best solutions and keep them wherever possible, in their own homes.

“A dedicated adviser will work with you and your lender to find the best solution for your situation. If you are in home mortgage arrears, Abhaile can help you in a number of different ways.

“If you need financial advice, you can get a free face-to-face meeting with an expert financial adviser. The adviser can help you to work through your money situation and explain the options available to you to help deal with your home mortgage arrears. Where possible the adviser will help you to find a way to keep you in your home,” David remarked.

Under the Abhaile process you can avail of a free face-to-face meeting with a solicitor who will explain your legal situation and advise you how best to resolve it.

“You may need legal advice on issues related to your mortgage arrears and should you be called to court to face repossession proceedings on your home, you will be able to meet a Duty Solicitor at the court. The Duty Solicitor may be able to speak for you in court and explain the proceedings to you,” David stated.

To get advice under the Abhaile scheme, clients must satisfy each of the following criteria:

You are insolvent, meaning that you are not able to pay your debts in full as they fall due.

You are in mortgage arrears on your home.

You are at risk of loosing your home, where your lender has initiated repossession proceedings or have indicated that they plan to do so.Also if they have stated that you are considered non-cooperating or if they have asked you to sell or surrender your home.
