Essential physiotherapy service remains open to treat bladder and bowel incontinence

Aoife Ni Eochaidh, chartered physiotherapist, provides face to face, phone, and video call physiotherapy for pelvic floor muscle treatment for bladder and bowel incontinence from her clinic in Suite 14, Bon Secours Consultant Clinic in Renmore. She also treats sexual dysfunction, prolapse, post-natal pelvic conditions, and osteoporosis. People can choose to have their pelvic physiotherapy consultation by regular phone call, Zoom, WhatsApp, etc, or to attend in person. Patients can get a referral from their GP or self-refer.

Most Irish health insurance companies provide some cover for pelvic physiotherapy and, if needed, they provide some cover for pelvic physiotherapy electrotherapy devices. Physiotherapy being an essential service, the clinic remains open during the pandemic, but is strictly adhering to Government guidelines. Letters are issued to patients travelling to the clinic to attend appointments.

Patients are advised on an individual basis in a live physiotherapy assessment with Aoife Ni Eochaidh either in her clinic face to face or by telephone or video call. Don’t worry that telephone and video physiotherapy might not be as good as attending in person, a lot can still be achieved, and it is always better to start sooner rather than later with any health issues. Many people are delighted to consult with Aoife Ni Eochaidh in this new way or by a mix of in clinic, phone, and video call, especially new mums, those after surgery, those with prolapse or bladder or bowel problems, and those with intimacy and sexual dysfunction issues, osteoporosis, and other chronic health conditions.

Talk to your doctor, or inquire with Aoife Ni Eochaidh about having your physiotherapy treatment at her clinic in Suite 14, Bon Secours Consultant’s Clinic, or by telephone or video call. Decreasing bladder, bowel, and sexual function and prolapse are awful, but with physiotherapy treatment the results are great.
