Galway company West Coast Insulation would like to wish all its customers a happy Christmas and prosperous New Year, and thank them for their custom during 2020. For some good news at this time of the year, the Galway company has announced it will be continuing to offer an increased grant amount of €1,123 into 2021. The company will also continue to take the grant directly off the price which covers a high percentage of the cost.
West Coast Insulation has an agreement with SEAI, which provides the grants, that the company can handle the paperwork on behalf of the homeowner. This means the homeowners get their grants taken directly off the price and no longer have to wait for grant refunds.
The company is also advising homeowners to take advantage of the current Government grant, while it is still available, for cavity wall and attic insulation. Cavity wall and attic insulation has been proven to be the most effective way to retain heat in a house and will cut down on heating bills immediately.
John Folan of West Coast Insulation advises homeowners to take advantage of the grants now. “The current Government grant scheme offers an excellent opportunity for homeowners to upgrade the insulation in their homes," he said. "Most houses in Ireland have some insulation; normally in the form of aeroboard in the walls and fibreglass in the attic. While these were the standard for homes in the past, it is not sufficient for the present and homeowners will be losing a lot of their heat. With harsher winters and increased heating bills, poorly insulated houses are neither comfortable nor affordable to live in.”
"Over this coming Christmas period, homeowners with poor insulation will most likely need to spend a significant amount more on heating than homes with upgraded insulation," he added. "With effective cavity wall and attic insulation we can reduce heat loss in homes by up to 60 per cent. This will allow homeowners to reduce their heating bills immediately and the house will become more comfortable to live in.”
