The Curly Organ to play Hibernacle Online Festival

My Fellow Sponges Donal McConnon to share the Hibernacle bill with Lisa Hannigan, Paul Noonan, and Saint Sister

DONAL MCCONNON, of Galway prog-folk band My Fellow Sponges and the solo act, The Curly Organ, will join Lisa Hannigan, Paul Noonan, Saint Sister, and others at the Hibernacle festival.

Hibernacle, which started this week, and which runs until Sunday, features 16 Irish musical acts, gathering in Doolin and collaborating to produce a series of online shows. Donal is the only West of Ireland artist to be featured in the line-up.

Donal’s solo project, The Curly Organ has performed at Body and Soul, Knockanstockan and All Together Now, and supported King Kong Company. While My Fellow Sponges shows are known for their spontaneous energy and genre-fusing acrobatics, The Curly Organ takes audiences more by the hand, guiding them through a range of human experiences (from the extreme and the banal )., with McConnon aiming for catharsis, for him and his audience.

"In a year where we have been isolated from each other," said McConnon, "and where connecting, sharing songs, and ideas has been difficult, Hibernacle will create an opportunity to come together safely, and gather inspiration through this cross genre, musical adventure."
