People can learn how to prevent brittle bone disease at a health and wellbeing evening at the Claregalway Hotel tonight (Thursday ) at 8pm.
The event, which is being organised by the National Dairy Council and Arrabawn Co-op will feature discussions by independent nutritionist Paula Mee; a presentation on osteoporosis prevention for all age groups by Michele O’Brien from the Irish Osteoporosis Society, while skincare specialist Silvanna Landa, area manager for Biotherm, will speak about skincare from the inside out.
The evening will raise funds for local heart charity Croi. The cost of the event will be borne by the organisers and all proceeds from raffles will go directly to the charity. Raffle prizes will include free gym membership for one year from The Kingfisher Club and a Biotherm product hamper.
Conor Ryan, the chief executive of Arrabawn Co-op, said it is delighted to work with the National Dairy Council in organising a health and wellbeing event for people living in Galway.
“We hope that this event will be useful, informative and encouraging in that it helps everyone to think positively about their wellbeing and what small adjustments can easily be introduced which can make a tremendous difference in the long term.”
