Knocknacarra accident waiting to happen

It is only a matter of time before there is a fatal car crash at the beginning of Knocknacarra Road coming off the R336 and this is why traffic calming measures are essential.

This is the view of Sinn Féin Galway City West candidate Tom Hanly, who says simple road markings and signs to slow cars down could prevent a “tragic accident from occurring in the future” on the road.

According to Mr Hanly, traffic turning left onto the Knocknacarra Road from the R336 often go too fast in what is a residential area. He also said it is extremely dangerous for residents of Bruch na Mara, Burrenview Heights, Carragh Drive, Cashel Court, and Brooklawn who are driving onto the Knocknacarra Road “where cars are whizzing by”.
