TDs to address online webinar on community cohesion

Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Ireland organise event, featuring Minsiter Frank Feighan; assistant Garda Commissioner, Paula Hilman; and SF TD Mairead Farrell

Galway West Sinn Féin TD will be among the speakers at a Galway based online webinar, Community Cohesion and Resilience in the face of Covid-19.

The webinar, which has been organised by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Ireland, will take place this Saturday, November 28, at 5pm. The speakers will be Frank Feighan TD, Minister for Public Health, Wellbeing, and National Drugs Strategy; Mairead Farrell TD, Sinn Féin spokesperson for Public Expenditure and Reform; and Paula Hilman, assistant Garda Commissioner.

'Our world has shifted dramatically'

It will explore evidence, and personal experience, in supporting community resilience-both as a means to strengthen communities to withstand public health crises before they occur, in times of emergency response, and in the aftermath.

"Over the past several months, our world has shifted dramatically," said a spokesperson for the organisers. "Our routines, expectations, and even our challenges have changed. What has not changed is our need for connection, our need to feel a sense of belonging, place and purposes, our desire to end isolation at work, at home, and across our lives."
