Connacht Property Auction expects a busy end to the year

The Connacht Property Auction is expecting strong interest from buyers over the next few weeks as the team prepare for their final auction events of 2020, which begin today, October 22, with the final events to be held online on November 19 and December 17. Shane May from The Connacht Property Auction commented: “In recent years we have seen extremely high market activity in October and November with many people hoping to buy or sell before the Christmas period.”

At this time of year, the annual Budget can play a role in making the decision on whether now is the right time to enter the market, with vendors and buyers waiting to see what the Government introduces. While some changes were made to the property sector, the normal residential and commercial markets have not seen much change, and the Connacht Property Auction team feel buyers are now likely to push on with finding their home of choice.

Mr May continued: “With auction being the fastest method of purchase, many buyers will look at the auction platforms in order to close before Christmas. Recent research which we undertook has shown that our auction platform is taking an average of three months from the point of coming to market to closing. Private treaty sales are taking an average of nine months from start to finish, and we feel for this reason alone, buyers and vendors should look to the auction platforms to move in a more reasonably timeframe.

“With the high demand for residential properties and indeed commercial, coupled with the low supply we are currently experiencing, we are finding there is interest and competitive bidding on the vast amount of the properties we offer for sale. We feel now is an excellent time to offer property to market, with thousands of registered applicants currently looking to buy before Christmas.”

The Connacht Property Auction is the only auction company in Ireland that does not charge any upfront costs to enter a property into an auction.
