Baboró invites children to share their hopes and dreams on wishing trees in Galway city parks

Baboró International Arts Festival for Children is in full swing in Galway and you can still enjoy a wide range of online activities and an outdoor art trail right up until this Sunday.

Colour My Life: Brighten your Day is an outdoor art trail in three of Galway’s public parks; Millennium Children’s Park, University Road; the Circle of Life Commemorative Garden, Salthill and Merlin Woods Park, Doughiska Road.

Children and families are invited to visit the art installations in the parks and to create their own artworks at home and to bring them to the parks for others to enjoy. There are also wishing trees in each park and Baboró is inviting children to share their hopes and dreams. Wishes to date include ‘More sunshine please’ with one child saying ‘I wish I could give my nana a hug’, and the wish that is on all our minds, ‘I wish for Covid to go away.’

Created by Toodlelou Creativity Lab, these outdoor installations will aim to brighten the day of those who encounter them and you can visit them up until this Sunday 18 October.

Baboró runs until Sunday 18 October. For the full programme see www.baboro.ie Baboró would like to acknowledge its principal funders The Arts Council of Ireland and Galway City and County Councils and the support of Medtronic, TG4, The Ombudsman for Children’s Office, and the businesses and venues of Galway City.
