Cheevers calls for mental health supports for business owners affected by pandemic

Councillor says Government should create support programme in collaboration with IBEC and Chamber of Commerce

Calls have been made for the Government to provide mental health support to business owners who have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The calls have come from Fianna Fáil Galway City East councillor, Alan Cheevers, who said the Government “needs a roll out programme of mental health supports” for business owners as the State begins Level 3 lockdown.

He said the development of such a programme should be in collaboration with IBEC and the various Chambers of Commerce. "The mental health of all people is challenged by this pandemic," he said, "and we need to see better structures for these challenges."
