Virtual Galway band release debut single

Opacas' 'Out Of My Mind' was written and recorded remotely by the band's four members

A BAND, whose members have never met, are about to release their debut single. It would sound implausible were it not taking place during these strange times of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Opacas (pronounced Oh-Pacas ) are a Galway-Leeds quartet whose debut single, ‘Out Of My Mind', along with its accompanying video - shot in The Office Bar in Salthill and on Salthill promenade - are released today, Thursday October 1.

Opacas are Galway based musicians Pat Boyle, Steve Talbot, and Peter Tobin, and Leeds based guitarist Mark Raynor. They are a virtual band who have never rehearsed or gigged together. Their music is written and recorded remotely, and put together using standard applications on mobile phones. The video was also filmed and edited on a mobile phone.

Steve and Pete met in person for the first time when filming the video for the song - neither have met Mark Raynor who was represented in the video by a wooden cut-out.

‘Out Of My Mind' is available via Spotify, iTunes, and Amazon. Find Opacas on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. See www.opacas.com.
