INEPT HOSPITAL radio DJ Ivan Brackenbury, and Sean Finnerty, who Jimmy Fallon has called "one of the funniest comedians to come out of Ireland”, will play the next Comedy KARLnival at the Róisín Dubh.
The show takes place on Tuesday September 29 with Ivan Brackenbury (8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown ) live via Zoom and Sean Finnerty and Therese Cahill (Ireland’s Got Talent ) on the Róisín Dubh stage.
Ivan Brackenbury is the creation of Tom Binns, a former breakfast radio host on London's XFM as well as a comedian in his own right.
Brackenbury's hospital radio show, complete with inappropriate records and bungled cues, is a regular fixture on the live circuit. As The Guardian said: “Binns has his character nailed and he mines the comic seam, ruthlessly to create top-quality entertainment with practically universal appeal."
Binns was voted a ‘Fosters Comedy God’, and won Best International Act at the New Zealand International Comedy Festival and Adelaide Fringe (twice ). He has also won three Sony Gold Awards.
Having performed all over the world for close to a decade, Sean Finnerty was recently rewarded for his efforts becoming the first Irish born comedian in history to perform on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. He was also the host to season nine of Fireball Run on Amazon Prime and has performed at iconic venues such as the Comedy Cellar in New York and the Comedy Store in LA.
Support is from Therese Cahill, Ireland’s first female 'limp-up' comic. A singer-songwriter, actor, writer, mother, and former life model, she reels off songs written somewhere deep within a slightly corrupt mind, and with a smile that would win over even the most hardened psychopath.
The MC is Karl Spain. Doors are at 8pm and the comedy starts at 9pm. Government guidelines will be observed: table service only, pay by cash or card at your table; hand sanitisers will be available; face masks must be worn upon entry and exit. Booking is via www.roisindubh.net Tickets are €12.50 per person. Limited number of tables of two for €25 or €50 for four.
