Burglary on Grattan Road, Galway

On Wednesday September 9 at 2am, a house was broken into at Beach Court, Grattan Road, Galway.

Some medication and bank cards were taken. Gardaí in Galway are looking to speak with a male and female in relation to this incident. Anyone who may have any information in relation to this incident is asked to contact Galway Garda Station on 091 538000.

Sean Mulvoy Road premises broken into

At approximately 12.20am on Wednesday September 9 a retail premises was broken into on Sean Mulvoy Road and extensive damage caused to the property.

A silver or gold coloured Skoda Superb saloon car with two males on board was observed outside the property at the time. Anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area or may have seen the Skoda saloon in the area at that time is asked to contact Galway Garda Station on 091 538000.

Bike stolen in Rahoon

Between 12 midnight and 9am on Sunday September 13, a garage was broken into at the rear of a house at Rosan Glas, Rahoon.

A black and purple Scott hybrid bicycle was taken. Anyone who may have any information relating to this incident or may have been offered a similar bicycle for sale is asked to contact Salthill Garda Station on 091 514720.

Incidents at Castlelawn Heights

Between 3am and 3.20am on Wednesday September 9, a Silver Ford Kuga was broken into in Castlelawn Heights, Headford Road, Galway. A pair of Rayban sunglasses, a pair of Lacoste sunglasses, black mini binoculars, and a Mac electric drill were taken from the vehicle.

Also around that time in Castlelawn Heights a white Seat Leon was broken into. A pair of Nike trainers and David Beckham Blue aftershave were taken from the vehicle.

And just after this between 3.20 and 3.30am, a shop was broken into in Castlelawn Heights and extensive damage was caused to the property.

Gardaí in Galway are asking anyone that may have observed anyone acting suspiciously in Castlelawn Heights between 3am and 3.30am on the date to contact 091 538000.

Serious car accident in Moycullen

Gardaí in Salthill are investigating a serious accident that occurred on Monday at 9.55pm at Gortachalla, Moycullen.

A single vehicle was involved. Gardaí in Salthill are asking anyone who may have been travelling in the area at the time and may have dash cam footage to contact Salthill Garda Station on 091 514720.

Gardai advice for bike owners

Gardaí are advising cyclists that when buying a lock for your bike to consider buying a good quality U-lock and cable lock.

When locking a bike, secure it to an immovable object and keep the lock off the ground. If possible, secure the bike indoors but if outdoors, try to secure the bike in a well-lit area with CCTV or natural surveillance. Note or take a picture of the serial number on the frame after buying a new bike.
