Quinn calls for Oranmore School Streets Initiative

Fianna Fáil councillor Shelly Herterich Quinn has called on the Galway County Council roads department to progress the Oranmore School Streets Initiative without delay.

Submitting the motion at Tuesday's Athenry municipal district at County Hall, Cllr Quinn said; "In light of the Covid-19 guidelines around car sharing and the tendency now to walk and cycle more, it would be prudent to implement the initiative.

"One of the aims is to address the growing congestion within the village, this park and stride initiative brings parents to all shopping centre car parks instead of directly into the village."
