Online auctions performing well despite post-lockdown fears

Online auction specialist IAM Sold Property Auctions, which runs the Connacht, Munster, Leinster, and Northern Ireland Property Auctions, says that demand remains strong in the property market post lockdown.

Shane May, sales manager for The Connacht Property Auction, noted: “While the disruption to the market during lockdown left sellers and buyers alike with a sense of uncertainty, we have experienced extremely high demand on the majority of our auction lots throughout the summer months.”

However, while demand continues to remain high, properties on the market are low with a current 14 year low in terms of properties currently for sale. This means that for anyone thinking of selling, the likelihood of getting strong interest and bidding is very high. Mr May added: “With the low supply and the strong demand levels we are currently experiencing, now is a great time to market properties. For vendors considering selling as we have thousands of registered applicants looking to buy and as online auction is a faster route to sell, vendors and buyers will have moved well before the end of the year.”

The company does not charge any upfront costs into the auction and take on board all marketing and entry fees – so the property owner has no costs unless the property is successfully sold.
