O’Donnellan & Joyce reports astonishing demand for auction property ahead of upcoming property sale

The auction team at O’Donnellan & Joyce report huge volumes of inquiries and interest for viewings on their upcoming auction catalogue. The widely varied listings include several very attractive properties ideally positioned throughout Galway city and county and notably throughout the beautiful and popular Connemara area.

Having launched its upcoming catalogue two weeks ago, O’Donnellan & Joyce reported that property viewings and surveys are now well under way. Auctioneer Colm O’Donnellan commented: “The very clear picture that this pent-up demand shows us, is that many people are ready and waiting to buy. Many people are putting the cart before the horse and arranging surveys and engineers very early on as they fear the demand for a given property will lead to them losing out on the purchase of their dream home. There is finance available for the purchase of homes and many are on the market to buy. We recommend this time to anyone thinking of selling, to get in touch soon.”

The next nationwide property auction is set to go ahead on Friday September 18 at 12 noon. The auction team will be set up in the Harbour Hotel as normal but the auction will be presented in a new fashion, given the latest Government restrictions imposed last week. Auctioneer Colm O’Donnellan will be on the podium conducting the auction and there will be a live video stream as per normal. The auction team will accept phone and internet bids from those who have registered in advance, and absentee proxy bidding will also be available to those who are unable to participate in the auction on the day. No live audience will be permitted to attend the venue as per the latest restrictions, but the auction team are confident in the new setup and invite those who wish to bid on the day, to register in advance.

Those who wish to phone bid will receive a phone call prior to the auction from their representative phone bidder. They will be given an outline of how the bidding via telephone will work, and they will be reminded to stay close to the phone when their selected lot is coming up. While waiting to participate in a later lot, one can follow the proceedings on the live video stream through the website or social media channels. Once your lot commences, you will be in direct communication with your respective phone bidder and they will relay the current bids to you and also relay your bid to the auctioneer. The person who is the highest bidder when the hammer falls, will have the sale executed on their behalf and a purchase deposit will be requested within 24 hours of the auction concluding.

Internet bidding is a popular option among those who can purchase a property while at work, at home, or abroad. Registration must be completed in the same way as those intending to phone bid – through the O’Donnellan & Joyce website (www.odonnjoyce.com ). Prior to auction day, each bidder will be registered with a bidding account on the O’Donnellan & Joyce online platform. On the morning of the auction, each bidder will receive a bidding pin number once their registration is complete. The bidder will log on to the auction platform and enter their bidding pin. This will complete their set up and allow them to bid on the lot that they intend to purchase.

Intending purchasers are reminded to register to bid as early as possible to ensure their registration is processed in advance of auction day. The registration form is available on www.odonnjoyce.com Bidders are reminded they must provide proof of address and photo ID at registration and that they authorise the auction team to execute contracts on their behalf if they are the successful bidder on the day.
