ConTempo - concerts online and in person

Quartet announce a jazz-classical fusion online concert and the return of the From Europe With Love concerts

WHAT DO you get when you cross the ConTempo Quartet with jazz musicians? JazzTempo! To close the summer, Galway Music Residency is hosting a special live streamed concert tomorrow (Friday August 28 ) at 1pm.

The concert is the culmination of an intensive, yet socially distanced, residency shared by ConTempo and Galway jazz musiciansMatthew Berrill (clarinet/sax ), Aengus Hackett (guitar - pictured below ), Roisín Mulliez (voice ) and Barry Donohue (double bass ).

.

The residency saw the musicians challenge each other and learn from each other's experiences in their respective genres. Throughout they performed new compositions by Matthew Berrill, as well as a number of Jazz standards, while also employing classical forms. These will form the basis of tomorrow's concert.

The concert will run for 40-minutes and be broadcast live from Oughterard Courthouse. It can be watched for free via Facebook (@thegalwaymusicresidency ), but donations are welcome.
